William Antonio Parodi Pugliese

Associate – Criminal Law Department

William Antonio Parodi Pugliese holds a Law and Political Science degree from the University of Panama, and a Master’s Degree in Financial Markets Law from the Pontifical University of Comillas in Madrid, Spain.

He has extensive professional experience, having held positions such as:

  • Legal Affairs Secretary at the Office of the Attorney General of Panama
  • Prosecutor for Financial Crimes
  • Senior Prosecutor for Drug-Related Crimes
  • Prosecutor for Organized Crime
  • Senior Civil Prosecutor
  • Anti-Corruption Prosecutor at the Office of the Attorney General

In the academic field, Mr. Parodi has served as:

  • Undergraduate professor in Criminal Procedure and Banking Law at Universidad Americana
  • Graduate professor in Banking Law at ULACIT (Latin American University of Science and Technology)
  • Master’s and Postgraduate professor in Economic Criminal Law at Universidad Latina de Panamá

He participated as a representative of the Public Prosecutor’s Office in the drafting of Panama’s new Code of Criminal Procedure, in the 2007 Criminal Code reform (specifically on Economic Offenses), and in the constitutional reform proposals relating to criminal justice.

Mr. Parodi is a frequent speaker at conferences on money laundering, financial crimes, and crimes against public administration. He has also published articles on financial crimes in specialized journals issued by Panama’s Superintendency of the Securities Market and the Office of the Attorney General.
